Over the last week or so engine turns over quite a few times before it starts, but once engine is warm it starts first click.
Anyone out there able to give me some idea of what it could be please?
*edit*
Thought about heater plugs, but l understood direct injection did not have them.

It will need new heater plugs, they cost around £15 each and there is four, it is half an hour of a job to fit them.
Do not just fit one change all of them it is just false economy replacing 1 or 2.
So all in all your looking at about £80 for them to be done at a garage.
Do not pay anymore than £100

Sounds like heater plugs. Get them checked by an auto electrician. It sounds as if there may be 1 or 2 faulty. If all 4 were all gone, it would,nt start at all when cold. Should cost about £15 quid each plus checking and fitting.

Hi there.
You will need to go & get a battery check asap. The battery is the heart of the device & it sounds like yours might be on the way out. If u leave it, u risk damaging the starter motor & that will cost you.
If the battery is fine, they can check the starter motor, leads etc. for u - l am pretty sure from ur description the problem is somewhere there. These cars r rock solid, just as long as u maintain them faithfully & nip these problems in the bud. My 51 reg is still going like a dream!
Good luck, Steve.

Hi Mal
Sounds like a fuel problem mate.
If it turns over ok, the batts ok, changed the fuel filter recently? l assume ur using normal road diesel. seems like the pump perhaps, l have an 02 406 estate, a while ago l had a few issues starting, Pug want loads of money to look at it. so l popped into a local garage, looked abit dodgy to be honest, but they checked the pipes & found that all the fuel was draining back into the tank & not holding up the pressure, about £20 later fixed, turns over & starts on the 2/3 turn in any weather, no problems since. so give this a whirl, nothing to lose.
good luck

Sounds like a very small leak in the fuel lines. Lets the fuel run back into the tank when you park it up so in the morning you have to churn and churn it over till it primes.
