Hey I've got a 1997 306 with front electric windows. They both work if l use the controls on the drivers side, however if you use the one on the passenger side nothing happens. It did have a spell where it work on and off, but now that switch has failed completely. Interestingly if you are winding the window up/down from the drivers side and someone presses the button on the passenger side it stops moving (as it would have done when they both worked). Has anyone got any suggestions as to what it might be, and how much it may cost if l have to take it to the garage.

My first guess is that u just have a problem with the Negative ground wire to the electric motor on this bad window. Without a good ground, it used to work for a ''spell'' as u said. Then l think the ground wire became worse. OR THE SWITCH ITSELF? When both switches r pressed, this is too much load on the 12 volt system (too many amps r required)
Rainwater? Loose? a hinderance in the rubber window track?
It is an old car, so get inside that door panel yourself & add some 12 volt source directly to the motor (bypassing the switch) & see what happens.

Peugeot prices on replacement parts for the DISCONTINUED MODEL 306 r sometimes double the price of the same part for a current model. l am guessing to replace the electric motor is 100 euro plus 3 hours labour (35 euro/hr) = 205 euro plus VAT.
Go to a breaker yard & get another old one, my friend.
