Speedometer was going up to 110 miles even l was driving on 40 and suddenly it stopped working. showed to an auto elctrician he charged £50 pounds for inspection and it is still not working. Needle moves a little bit goes to 30 and falls down. Autoelctrician said change the whole speedometer cluster but l am not sure that changing of it will solve my problem. is there any expert who has solution of my problem. l will be very thankful. l live in rochester kent. if somebody knows a good mechanic who deals with such problems please let me know.

It sounds like you have either a loose connection or your connection is damaged. l would recommend getting your speedo re-wired.

l had a similar problem on a 02 plate 206SW and it required diagnostic check and re-boot by Peugeot dealer to clear the problem with the engine management system.

sounds like the speedo clocks, which are common. try not to get a brand new one,not cheep. if that does not sometime there is a bad earth somewhere normally the one going to the gearbox or the running gear for the speedo if plastic which is located in the gearbox which some time breaks but that is not as common as the other 2
