Thank you to all who responded on the above(l will choose a best answer)nice to see genuine ,restored my faith in .l should have said in my questions on the above, that we are not in the first flush of youth (nor even the second!) so sports cars are out and so are soft tops.the latter being vulnerable to the vandal syndrome!. Happy to hear other views but thanks again.

l loved my 106, have just traded it in for a 306. l think they're brilliant cars - good quality compared to some others.

Peugeot 206.A very good car. comes with really good features. worth every penny u pay. it has a 1.6 litre 24 valve engine. which makes it really fast in traffic. u also have a sport option. which helps u operate the car at very high rpm. a driving pleasure when in u need the extra acceleration. triptronic gear box. another good feature. it also drops the gear to a lower gear when u use ur brake. give u great control on turns. cos it also comes with ABS. the rear seats can be fully tilted to get ur more space for luggage.

Other features. JBL sound system with 6 speakers +2 subwoofers. really clear sound. also u have the option of locking the rear windows & if ur spouse is carrying a baby in the front seat u have the option of switching off their airbag.
You also get fog lamps front & rear. plus a rear glass wiper.
The electronic feedback system is amazing, u can track everything down from the amount of kms to the petrol station. handbrake, parking position of the gear when switching the car off. if the doors r not locked, the ceiling light & the inbuilt informations screen indicates everything. also if the car engine is not running & u r using the radio or any electrical device which is draining the battery. it will switch to eco mode to save the battery power.

above all it has a NCP 4 safety rating which is rare for the cars in this range.

yes one small hitch. it has a manufacturing fault. the hydraulic valve of the gear box needs to be changed which will be done in the first service free of charge. this fault will cause the car to jerk sometimes when the car down shifts.

Also note that they havent done a great job to insulate the engine sound from the main compartment. it can be a little noisy. but with the loud sound system. it is taken care off.

l own a peugeot 206 (full option, with sunroof) & l m totally satisfied with the performance of the car. l hope the same from u as well. best of luck.

Go for the 206cc! My wife used to have one! A fab car! it was a 2litre SE. Best looking cc on the market by far and never ever faulted.
l am personally a big car fan, and l know a lot about cars! My father-in-law is also a mechanic and has been for 35 years, and our best advice is to go for the 206cc. Its an amazing car!

Good luck!

l can recommend the 206cc or the slightly larger 307cc both very good cars with loads of extras.
