Got this car about 10 days ago. Just at the weekend l noticed the exhaust seemed a little louder than when l first had it. Coming home tonight l just had no power in 5th gear and was very noisy, like a rumbling fart sound. Just as l neared home it was ok all of a sudden for about 30 seconds, then same again. What is the problem? I am pretty sure it is something to do with the exhaust.

sounds like you have a problem with the catalytic converter take to your nearest exhaust centre and have it checked out

It all depends on if tis a petrol or diesel
petrol l would say that there is a problem with the cat then again it depends on the reg !!!!
if its a diesel dw8 engine its your inlet manifold which has blocked.
if so take it to a dealer and they will check it for you.

l have worked on Peugeots and cars with catalytic converters for several years. l agree with the first two mechanics. Mr. Gordon shrek has a high percentage of BEST ANSWERS in the peugeot category.
No car lasts forever, all used cars will have some expenses initially, but many mechanics just like to spout off, , and get two points here.
