Can you set the date so that is is dispayed permanently on the dash of a 406?l hit the buttons either side of the screen and the date is displayed briefly but after a few seconds it flashes off.I'd like it to be on all the time.

So you can be reminded each and every day that you foolishly purchased a Peugeot?

The answer to the question is written in Dutch in my 406 owners manual. Please allow me until tomorrow to translate it to English for you.
You will have a SERIOUS answer tomorrow, from Belgium,

Here is the translation BUT, having the date flash for a few seconds & then disappear is NOT an option. Maybe something is defective??

DISPLAY B:
a photo is shown of the “multifunctional display screen”. Button 3 is on the left side & button 4 is on the right.

This can show the following information:
* The time, the date, the outside temp, (the Centigrade symbol blinks by chance of slippery roads), info on the radio, check open doors, fuel cap / bonnet is open…
* Warnings that r constantly displayed (i.e. battery not good) or news that is shown for 10 seconds (i.e. fill fuel tank) can be erased by pressing button 3 or 4.
* the onboard computer.

Setting the parameters:
Press button 3 in, & hold this pressed in for 2 seconds.
Afterwards by pressing button 3, various parameters can be selected:
* The language, the hour, minutes, year, month, day, 12/24 hour, temperature in F or C, miles or km.
By pressing button 4 u can change the parameters. Hold the button pressed in to change them at a faster tempo.
If for 10 seconds the button is NOT pressed in, the display gives its basic screen again.

DISPLAY C:
( again the same information, but even more info if u have the navigation system & a hand-held remote control. Nothing specifically about the clock & date, sorry)

MY GUESS is to NOT press button 3 or 4, this erases info.

If u tell me u have the Navigation System, l will translate that too…bye bye.
