this is a test question mainly for trevor t!! (who l think knows nothing about peugeot yet claims hes an expert)
i have a knocking whilst l am driving along in my 106 when l dip the clutch it disappears. it is very fast and loud yet it does not affect performance in the slightest? what could it be? a clue is it is the most common peugeot fault known.
tina d if you email me l will help you and let you know how to fix
or in other words trevor you dont know the answer. l currently own 12 peugeots as l am a motor dealer l have lost count of the number l have sold in the last month.
no trevor it is a drive shaft. if you claim to be an expert why do you need to consult a garage???

it dont just happen on a 106 it is the most common fault on all peugeots

prepare to lose your title

Hello! Trevor here!
First of all. l Am a good Peugeot mechanic. After 15 years of being a Ford mechanic. l have owned & driven several models of Peugeots & fixed them all.. transmissions to head gasket to driveshaft rebuilds to door handles. l am only the 'top answerer' here for JUST THREE reasons.
1. Few others give serious based on experience.
2. The Asker never returns to choose the best & say who was correct.
3. And Gordon Shrek (30 Q's) has disappeared.

Now, hello Gavin. You & l r breaking two YAHOO rules here; NO chatting here. Q&A only. And if u already know the answer to ur MOST COMMON FAULT KNOWN question, u should place this question under ''Trivia'' with all the other young children playing ! .

l would really like to HELP PEOPLE here. Have u ever received a thank u from an Asker? With a comment that said, ''You were spot on, mate'' , or ''you were very informative''? Maybe not in ur first three days on this website, but hopefully in the future. That is what this website is for. Helping people.
If a Peugeot question stumps me.. l sometimes visit a Peugeot dealer & ask a question / discussing it in French or Dutch. To what extremes do u go to help people?

If l ever see MY NAME in one of ur questions again, with a subtle intent to insult me on this website.. l will report u for abuse, & show it is the THIRD time!. Have a nice day.

here is my guess: Q&A format!
Release bearing? If u really had a problem, l would research it in Gent. l have never worked on a 106 clutch.

ONE day later. l claim to be an expert on Peugeots of the 1980s. And so, it is ur drive shaft. Sorry, but it DOESN'T happen on most Peugeots. Oh yes, l am an expert on the English language too, l do know the difference between ''do not & doesn't, who & whom''.

You may HAVE my title anytime. l did not seek it, it just automatically comes after time. l hearby permit YAHOO! to give u all my PEUG points & money & prizes & fame as l walk down the street. It is all yours.
You have been playing this game for 3 days now? Good luck, grouchy. Start by improving ur grammar.

That is the knock, knock, knocking of the automotive grim reaper. l suggest you buy a second car -- a TOW TRUCK would be a perfect choice.
