ALL CARS have to be repaired sometime. And u do pay a lot for the expertise. Mechanics send their kids to college too. That is life. But u need ur car every day.

DONT go to the Peugeot garage, that may be the most expensive solution.
l suggest u go to an independant neighbourhood garage that seems to be busy with cars waiting for days. And take an older friend with you, just so the garage mechanic is more careful about what he says to you. l hear a lot of funny stories that r said to young women, older single women, & university students of all types.
START learning about cars now. It is never too late.

My guess (never having worked on a 306) is that it may be simple. The clutch disc may be juddering in first gear because it is worn down to the very minimum thickness. (have u had less acceleration or power to overtake recently?)
At least get an educated estimate before u worry yourself about getting ripped off. Insist on a phone call if repairs r more than estimated. Ask for all worn parts to be returned to you. This lowers the chance of being fooled.
Can u drive it a few kilometers to the nearest shop?

im just a 12 yr old girl who really LUVS cars, but l do know a bit about peugeots. u have bought a faulty car and you should have looked into it more. go have it checked out at a repair workshop and see wat it needs, but dont worry, it should be fine!

U should put ur car on diagnosis test, this is the only way to know which sensor is faulty or how ur ecu is working.
