l am interested in buying a new 206 with the OTR price at £7800 (3dr).

Any one help me with a few questions l have;

*How much tax is it a year?
*What extra is can l haggle for? e.g alloys, paint protection
*What price should l haggle for?

Cheers
They have stopped making 206 is as they are being replaced with a 207!!

207 is out of my budget as it is an extra £2-3k more..... is it a good idea to buy the last of the 206 is new?!

Do not listen to them! It is a great car, l have one!
Any way, tax for my 1.1 version is £90 per year! Seeing as the 207 has arrived, Peugeot will be eager to get rid of the remaining 206s. Haggle for metallic paint at least (you have to pay extra for that) & if you're brave go for the alloys, but then do not expect much money off. Ideally, go for metallic paint, plus a full tank of fuel & a price of £7,400 - 500. That should be do-able.

Good luck, they're great cars!

Heya! l have just bought a beautiful second hand Peugeot 206 - they r amazing little cars! :D

With regards to taxing. depends on which engine size u r interested in. Mine is a 1.6 (1587cc), which cost me £180 for one years tax. Any engine below a 1.6 (e.g. the 1.1 or 1.4 models of the 206) cost £115 to tax for one year.

As for extras & price haggling it depends on the age & condition of the car l guess! Also would depend, if u chose to buy one second hand & whether u were looking at buying from a private seller or a garage. For a really approximate guide as to how much u should pay AND available extras e.g. alloy wheels visit parkers.co.uk

Good luck finding a car! :D

do not even bother. im currently trading in my 206 after owning it just 13 months. already ive been through 5 central locking units, a relay, water pump, screenwash pump, the bodywork is RUSTING already, the exhaust is knackered & the suspension is completely shot & its broke down on numerous occasions. 13 months of quality motoring? l think not! terrible quality & l will never ever own one ever again. most people ive known own a 206 have always vouched to never own one ever again & couldnt wait to get rid of it.
