when starting the car it takes 5-6 turns to start when it does start it is fine but if l leave it a couple of hours it does not start again just wondered if anyone could help

The starter motor sounds like it needs changing. It is not the sort of thing you can do yourself, really, unless you are a trained mechanic.

Not enough info. Does the starter turn when you return or will the car not start, and the engine is turning over. You could have several little things that could cause it not to start, tell us more.

e.g. is it a diesel, perhaps the glow plugs are not working, but there are plenty of other considerations, more info please.

Check the fairly easy things first the battery could be on the blink if not clean the battery terminals and put Vaseline on them and make sure that they are on tight the Vaseline helps prevent build up of corrosive material and is carbon based and will not restrict the power flow if that fails l hope this will help you good luck
