Hi.

Does anyone else out there have a similar problem to me? My problem being that, not once but twice in the space of a month the drivers door of my 307 has broken. Broken as in a cable on the inside of the door seems to have broken, as a result l am unable to open the door from the outside, or inside. resulting in me having to climb over the passenger seat!
l have left it into the mechanic to be fixed about 6 weeks ago, but the problem has returned. l think it results from some problem with the remote central locking.

l am just wondering if anyone out there has experienced this? Or have l just bought a LEMON???

l have the same problem with my 106. at one time l can unlock and lock my door and the next minute l cant and l cant open it from the inside and have time climb through passager door. then it will work again.

my garage cant see a problem and it never happens for them. l just try and not think about it happening again .

This was also a problem with the older 205. It had nothing to do with the electrical remote door lock.

The problem is in the handle itself. When u pull on the handle, a spring contracts. When u let go of the handle, the spring expands.
If this spring STAYS in the rusty position of contraction, then ur door will not work (not open again). After u drive over some bumps, & after a few hours, the rusty spring expands & goes back to its original position.
That is why u can sometimes open, & sometimes NOT open the handle.

Just replace the old rusty handle inner mechanism. l HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. l had it in the 1990's. l used to pound on the metal door to cause a vibration, & expand the spring in 30 seconds.

Yes, you have purchased a lemon. Do not fret, ALL Peugeots are lemons.

Had the same problem with my 1996 106 and could not get door to open at all, but a little tapping on the door worked. l found that the inside lock was not rising all the way up and is probably the spring as you suggest so can get it sorted now. meanwhile have managed to get a lot of WD40 sprayed inside the door lining which may help.
