hi, l have a set of coilovers on a 206, never been on a real journey as car is sorned so only nips around the drive to stop things ceasing up. just latley there has been a noise when turning the steering.

after having a look l noticed its the springs on the coilvers turning, the adjustable nut was loose on both but have tightened them up very well.

the noise now is the top of the spring moving agenst the top rubber, is this normal as if it is im just going to grease it up so it moves smoothley?

theyhave been on the car for 10months nothing is loose all tight and l move the car almost every week when working on ther car.

coil-overs r usually shorter than the standard springs to reduce the ride height.If u reach in under the wheel arch then grab the spring & try
and turn it it should not move.If it does then u have a problem & it
will fail its next MOT.When u buy a coil-over kit u should also
buy the suspension struts that have been suitably adapted for your
shorter springs. The springs carry the weight of the car but if u can
turn them then they don't, the suspension struts r doing this instead.
