2.x² - 6 x – 16 = 0

if someone can show me how to do them than l can do the rest on my own but l dont know how do these

1. x(x-20)=0 common term is x so put it on the outside.

x=0 x=20 the x on the outside =0 and you set the inside to equal 0 as well so x=20.
2. (x-8)(x+2)=0
x=8 x= -2

8 and 2 are factors of 16 so you just have to figure out the signs after that. hope this helps.

X times X = x² , x times 0 = 0, -20 times x = -20x, -20 times 0 = 0

x² + 0x -20x + 0 =

x² -20x

2. Answer: (X-8)(X+2), X - 8 = 0, X = 8, X +2 = 0, X = -2

X times X = x², x times 2 = 2x, -8 times x = 8x, -8 times 2 = -16
