l have a Peugeot 206 1.4 HDl 3DR Hatchback and have a few problems with it (all cosmetic / comfort related). I've had these problems for a while but it is about time l do something about them:

1.) l have a small dent on the passenger door (with a small scratch), what is the best method to remove this dent or should l take it to a garage?

2.) l have several tiny scratches on my car that are too deep for T-Cut and one large scratch on front arch, best way to remove this?

3.)The driver seat has missing form and the spring bas seem is to have broken, Is this easy/cheap to replace ? Or should l try a garage again.

4.) Final one, my driver door was opened and caught a strong wind and has seemed to drop, it does not line up with the rest of the frame, again garage or an alternative way?.

Thanks for anyyou provide
Tony

well l have a 3 door 1.4 206 so l thought id try & help.

1) depends how big the dent is. if its small & unnoticable to everyone but yourself, leave it. if it really bothers you, u can get this round flat thing, that u place on the dent & it will pull it out, l think it works like a magnet. you'd find it in a kleeneze type of household catalogue.

2) l had some small scratches on my car, some of which l T-cutted & others had taken the paint off. what l did was l rang my local peugeot garage & asked for the touch up paint(mine was aluminium silver) then l cleaned the scratch, applied electrical tape around the scratch so that new paint wouldnt go on to the original paint. put some newspapers around to protect further. then sprayed the paint over the scratch, left it an hour & then sprayed the gloss spray over it. ( u need to do this kind of job when its not raining/humid.) l did the same with a big motorway stone chip on my bonnet only l got the touch up pen version of the paint to fill the whole, (didnt need newspaper or tape for this) & now u wouldnt know its there :)

4) l hate it when someone gets out of the passenger door & lets it go when its super windy & it flings back making an awful noise! l think the best way around this would be to sit in ur drivers seat & observe the door hinges as u slowly pull the door to. this way u can determine which if any of the hinge arms have bent=door hanging lower. if this is the case then as u dont seem to be good with cars, take it to a garage. if u dont know of any good ones u can trust then it is best to take it to the nearest peugeot one as they should do a good job on it.

hope this helps

1. if u want it to look good then l would take it to a garage they might even be able to pull the dent out & polish the scratch if u do it yourself it can go all kinds of wrong!

2. the best way to remove surface scratches is by getting a bucket of water & 1500 grit wet flat paper/sandpaper, go over the scratches then borrow a buffer & polish & go over that, itll look brand new!

3. try looking in scrap yards for a new seat maybe or second hand ones on ebay, l have a 206 but u didnt mention what year it was!
if u go to a garage or local dealer they will be very expensive!

4. all u have to do is adjust the door but this might be better left to a garage it wont cost alot if u just ask them to straighten it up prob about £20 unless u need new hinges but they r very inexpensive!

1..ring a dent remover..
2..above may also be able to fill and cover scratches..
3..breakers yard,£20.
4..adjust door Striker plate on the car.
EDIT.
the door itself cant be adjusted as the hinges are a weld fit to the car.
