hi, l was just driving home from college and l heard a strange noise and l lost my power steering...went and checked and my power steering belt has split clean in half (and my fan belt might have too...cant see)....but now l have an even louder diesel knock sound....its gone from sounding like a car diesel engine to now sounding like a van or truck diesel...what has happened???

Did you put in diesel at the last fillup?

Could be part of the belt thats broken has got under your timing belt cover causing it to jump a tooth on the timing
