But it still overheats and bubbles over, any ideas??????????

You have done all the ''normal'' things that should have fixed this, so now we r down to the ''weird stuff'':

1) Water pump? You can check this by running the car while warm (Warm, not hot) with the cap off of the radiator, if u can see the water moving & u r sure it is warm enough that the thermostat is open, then u should be able to see the water moving. No water movement = Bad water pump or thermostat. (If the pump did Go, I'd replace the thermostat again at the same time, but that is me)

2) l had a brand new thermostat installed once that was ''bad'' right from the box. Test this by placing it in a pot of boiling water, when the it gets up to the right temp, it should open. Never do this with the thermostat ''dry'' it is built to be in water, so do not use the oven.

3) If the fan never runs, it could be the temperature sensor, before buying a new one try hooking up a switch to the fan directly & watching the temp gauge. If turning on the fan cools it down, then u know what to do.

4) If the fan runs ''all the time'' but the temperature never drops, The radiator could be blocked, look at the outside first, then consider having the core tested for flow.(a shop may be able to clean it with a mild acid solution, or a new (used) radiator could solve this problem.

Good luck with ur car!

Are u the same person that emailed me directly with this same problem..? Ruby?
l do like the idea from the previous answerer that said maybe ur cooling fan never comes on. This is not unlikely for a car over 17 years old.
Try adding 12 volts directly to the fan wires & hear it come on. Be careful thought, it is 12 volt direct current & u must know Pos from Neg wires.
Or, place a straw between the fan blades, tape the straw in place, drive around, see if the straw is broken by the spinning??? fan blades. This proves the fan does work.

good luck Ruby. ??
