It only goes up to 110mph . other peugeot 205 1.8 diesels l have seen go up to 180mph. why is this?!

Break it by exceeding that speed and then ask for a replacement.

you sure its not 180kph they go up to?

it could be that 205 GTi dials have found their way into non GTi models. top of the range sport/performance models often have different and higher reading dials.

Go flat out and if your speed reaches 110 and it feels like the cars still accelerating then l would get the speedo that goes to 150 if not there is no point, there is no reason why you cant have one fitted to yours

those cars made in England have a speedometer that is primarily indicated in MILES per hour. However, the kilometers per hour r shown in smaller numbers on most models. Especially the older 205 which was made between 1983 & 1998. But only made in England for the last few years of that range.
Those cars made on the continent have a Kilometric dial. 100 (kph) = 61 mph is straight up on the dial.

YOU CAN, of course change the entire instrument panel from one car to the next. Some have clocks, tachometers, trip-o-meters, & a varitety of fuel gauges. Just remove one panel & slap in another. This way u can change the odometer from 220, 000 miles to 130,000 miles. It is easy to deceive the next buyer.

On my 205 the speed 60 is just about straight up so that would make the speedo run to about 120. As the car can not do 180 MPH l would not worry.
