it struggles to start up and when it does l have to put my foot on the pedal for ages to keep it goin,it stalls when l come to a stop or coast. l have looked at all pipes leading to the carbretta and they were clogged up wiv oil water mixture which l took apart and cleaned out completly,when l put it all together again it worked a lil bit better but then a week later l checked pipes and noticed more mixture was forming and now it runs like shit!!erratic speed changes when l eccelerate and just sounds like either not nuff air,fuel or even both???? apart from not buyhing it or try selling it-what else can l do?!! cheers

Could be anything, but start with some maintenance - is the air filter clean and any breathers & valves to the air filter housing clear? Are the plugs, leads & distributor all in good order? Is the timing correct? Is the carburettor set up correctly and any vacuum hoses connected & in good order? The best checks for a head gasket are a check for oil in water, water in oil, oil or coolant loss, and a compression test.

My son had the same problems with starting his 106. The automatic choke was faulty and needed repaired. Hope this helps. Drive safely.
