My next door neighbour has this 1999 Peugeot 306 Meridian and l will be driving soon and l wanna buy it off him for 2500 euro and he bought it less than a year ago and it has 140,000 miles on it now but my other friend says that he has driven it hard! would this still be a good idea to buy it? l have been in it and it runs good to me but l dnt wanna buy it then have to pay to get it fixed after a few months! It sunds good and has never had any major problems with it!

Ask him for the service records. Also check with the local dealer to see what type of services are due at 140,000 and also in the near future. Visit the website kbb.com (Kelley Blue Book) and enter the info about the car and it will give you a fair price for the car. You can also try edmunds.com, for most cars they have a cost to own analysis.

#1. Never buy a car from a friend.
#2. Never sell a car to a friend.

There IS always a chance that one week after u buy it, it will need a totally new..??? & it costs 400 pounds = 600 euro. This will stress any friendship.
There r 25 other cars u could buy for 2500 euro. Look around & do not be in a hurry for ONE car. And u do not sound like the guy that will be fixing this car in ur back garden?
