Your engine is probably a TU version with a MA5 gearbox = transmission??
Here is a picture of this manual gearbox OUT of the car & on the floor. Filler plug is smack in the middle of the FIRST photo.

The filler plug can be seen when u remove the LEFT tyre & look straight inwards at the gearbox. It has a square hole, to be opened by an 8mm square bar. There is also a copper ring, to be renewed upon replacing the filler plug.

Possible small Peugeot 106 engines:
1.0 L (954 cm³),TU9 engine,
1.1 L (1124 cc) TU1 I4,
1.3 L (1294 cc) TU2 I4,
1.4 L (1361 cc) TU3 I4, (74 hp/55 kW)
1.4 L (1361 cc) TU3 I4, (93 hp/69 kW)
