l have a Peugeot 206 1.3 reg is 54.so its fairly new.what l was wondering how much is its full tank like 40£ or 50££.the thing my fuel gauge is fu***dso l do not how much l have got in it.

please help me l have went to some garages and they said its going to cost over 100 pounds so im thinking of filling it up to its full tank so it could correct it self please help

Why not carry a spare gallon of fuel in the boot
just to be on the safe side

Why not fit a new sender yourself, that is if the sender is broken. It could be that the wire from the sender is broken which would give a false reading. Under the rear seat should be a panel which can be removed & under this, if it is the same as my 205 will be the sender unit & the suction out pipe for the fuel. If there is a problem with the sender pull off the wire from the unit & earth it to the body the gauge should read full then if not it could be the guage or the wire.

l thinks roughly about £45 to £50 at current price of petrol and your car prob do about 450 miles on a average driving style (sometimes driving hard and sometimes taking it easy)
But prob best to get it fixed to be honest as it will one day catch you out and you will be kicking yourself when that happens

l tink the 206 capacity is 48 liters. Do your math based on this. And check if even the fuel alert light does not turn on when your car is really low on fuel, then be sure it is the sensor. If the alert light turns on when the car is almost empty from fuel, then it is the indicator in your board.
