Thanks everyone. The stop light is red, but the handbreak light is also on. l have had my brake pads changed recently. It seems to come on and then go off randomly so l am not sure if it could be a problem with the wiring?

try the brake fluid level if not.. get your brakes checked

Make sure you do not have a stop light globe not working.

the STOP central warning light is linked to engine oil pressure and coolant temperature so check your oil and water. You should not keep driving if this stays on all the time as it means stop,best get it checked out if oil and coolant levels are OK. Best of luck.

Yeah its a Peugeot they do that!

Did you have the brake pads (front), or brake shoes (rear), changed, as the handbrake light comes on l suspect it is the shoes, not the pads.
You may find there is a lose connection, on the brake wear wiring loom, or if it is telling you to stop, there may be a fault with your SRS (Secondary Restraint System) i.e. Airbag!
