Today the right indicator on my Peugeot 206 started flashing much quicker than normal and when l got out and had a look at the lights, the rear indicator was not working, only the front and side indicators were.

Is this likely to be a blown bulb?Can anyone give me a detailed explaination on how to remove the rear light cover to have a look at the bulb and replace it if necessary?

tap the lens first, might work then.

look in the boot.. you should be able to remove some panelling

and yep coz it is blown , that is why the others flash faster..

perhaps invest in a haynes manual for your car , off ebay even..

Yes, this is a blown bulb.

You do not take the cover off, you get in from inside the car. There is a little hatch that opens. The bulb cluster pulls out and you can change the bulbs easily.

sounds like you have a bulb of just tke it to a garage not cost much

you remove the whole rear light unit by unclipping the panelling around it in the boot,undo the wing nut that holds the unit and disconnect the plastic wiring plug and take whole unit out. You should now be able to access the bulb.
