206.prob 12V but mabey 16V.. tell ur mates its 16V they wont question you lol..
My brothers got one and his is 12valve but l know u can get a 16valve one

oh ye.if it hasnt got 16v on the side .. it will be a 12 v

it would be 4 cylinder and normally it would be 8 valves - the car that has 16 valves usually is a special model and 16v is on the back end.

8 valve TU4 petrol engine
probably one of the most reliable and well designed engines around
peugeot used the TU series engines for a very long time

There were two different 1.4 engines:
1.4 L (1360 cc) TU3 I4, 75 PS (74 hp/55 kW) .(8 valves!)
1.4 L (1360 cc) ET3 16v I4, 88 PS (87 hp/65 kW) (16 valves)

Look under the bonnet. The 16 valve engines have VVT embossed in raised letters on the valve cover. Or..Look on ur paperwork, registration, to see the horsepower of ur engine. The 87 hp car has 16 valves. Others have 8 valves.

I've NEVER heard of a 206 with 12 valves, NOR a TU4 engine.
Only Tu1, TU3, TU9. Later, came the TU5 1.6 litre.
HERE is every 1.4 liter engine for the 206 ever made. Click on ''more info'' next to any model. NONE has 12 valves!!! (good English.none has..)
