my garage asks for 245 and they rec me to go to kwik fit or other because they will be cheaper, l called kwik fit and they said 225 £, is there anywhere else cheaper ? l mean at big centers like nationwide etc . cheers
how hard is it to change the parts myself ?
yea i've done some work on the car also l have the haynes manual, the thing is l only have 2 axle stands , l cant lift at a eye level . l will buy the parts and try it myself to see howit goes, what other stuff do l need ? l mean cat converter, new bolts anything else ? gaskets seals etc

you could ask your garage or exhaust fitter for a labour only quote.

This is a job where u have to lift the car up to eye level. And work under the car, whilst u can stand up.
If 9 years have passed, then ur bolts & connections in ur exhaust system r rusted solid! You need the patience to cut the old bolts, & have new ones ready.
YOU CAN DO IT yourself, but is this ur first job, working on ur own car?

edited: u might need some fastening pieces. Maybe the catalytic converter hangs from a hook, by a rubber strap? Similar to the muffler?
Are there any ceramic ''doughnuts'' that seal the pipe connections? l do not know. never done a 306 exhaust system, just other Peugeots & Fords.

Buying the parts yourself for 100 pounds, is the easy part.

get one from a slavage yard.ive just done one..£50 +£40 deposit on the old cat..

You need to buy the cat from Eurocar Parts I've got a 106 and the cat was £39 from them and £210 from Peugeot they will give you all the fitting kits/clamps you need if you ask for them as well!!!! Its not a difficult job to do
