hi, lost my peugeot 306 (1.4cc) 1998 key, anybody knows what the cheapest way to get another key

There is not a cheap way. That is one of the factors that determines the insurance rating. You can not just 'get a cheap key' or anyone could and nick your car! You will have to see a Peugeot dealer and cough up. Tough lesson.

Depends if it got a chip in it or not It it has the Main dealers the only place to go and it is £60 ish per key

unfortunately you have to go to main dealer with reg no they order new key and code it in to your Car ring first to get price

Uh oh this is quite bad news for u my friend. And l should know.I've done it.

Fortunatley l have a 1995 model & so l was lucky as this is before they started making keys with chips. Hence, l was able to call out a locksmith who profiled the lock & cut a new key for £90.

What u will have to do is ring ur local peugeot dealership & tell them ur predicament. They will ask u to bring the car to the dealership - an impossible task without a key! Tell them again & they might be able to help u & give u the code. They will then charge u £15 +. Once armed with this code then u can ring up a locksmith (yellow pages) who will come & fit one for u for less that £100. Or if u bought the car from the dealership they might be nice to u & come do it for u - not overly likely.

Its stupidly expensive for a little piece of metal so my advice is get a few cut because u arent gonna want to pay this again!
