could b anything from bad cat converter to loose gas cap.go to dealer.pollution control systems are usually guaranteed for 8 yrs.

Goto autozone and get the engine scanned for free. That is the ONLY way to figure out what is wrong. Guessing will just cause you to spend more money.
The emission is not guaranteed for 8 years. The dealer will charge close to 100 just to get your engine scanned.
