abnormal airbag shows up on the central screen of my peugeot 307 hdiwhen starting and then stays on
does it meanl need a new air bag at £250.00
have tried turning airbag off this works for about 10mins then the sign warning sign comes back on again garage said neeed whole new elec control section

most probably your computer needs resetting or you could have caught the cables under the front passenger seat. check for loose connections..turn the airbags off and on again with the key (open passenger door and it should be there)

Ahh peugeot electrics are the worst.. Im not completely sure of this but on my 306 there are two different connections one under the passenger seat and one by the steering column a orange connector on both, firstly try pushing them in just incase they have wiggled loose (which is a common problem on the 306's).

l had a 2002 307 dor 2 years.lots of electrical problems with them sorry to say. had this prob with mine, the indicator / wiper arm that crosses the top of the steering wheel chafed the wire for the air bag and the arm needed replacing, l had the light put out several times but it kept coming back on, l hope its like mine was under warrenty still because they are expensive ..but it cud be other things tho, get an auto electrician to plug in and check it out

A common problem for peugeots! There is a short, curved wiring-loom underneath the passenger seat. Carefully straighten the loom a little and take a little of the 'curvature' out of it. l did this on my 406 and my airbag light now goes off after starting the engine. Hope this helps.
