My central locking has stopped working on my peugeot 206 (1999), when l press the button on the key fob the central locking trys to shut but bounces back up again, l have to lock the doors manually.

l dont think its the key fob battery, could it be a moter on one of the locks?

Anyone got any ideas. l will take it to the garage at the weekend just looking for opinion.

Thanks

l had a similar problem on my peugeot 406 while on holiday in cornwall,so l called at a dealers and it was actually a salesman that reset the key fob. hold it up to the sensor inside the car and press as normal and it should operate normally.i doubt it is the motor. hope this works for you.

Just a wild guess from reading similar questions here.

It could be that rain water has got into your rooftop antenna area. The remote sensor is hidden there. Open from the inside headliner and dry everything out. Your car is 10 years old, this could be a problem of age. The motors obviously work.too quickly!
good luck.

Otherwise just give me a thumbs down too..

you can try resetting the key fob (follow instructions to the letter!) and if this does not solve it then take it to the garage. l have had this happen to me with my 206 and touch wood following the reset it has come back to normal. Good luck.

It could be the battery, or one of the motors as you have suggested, on my 206 l notice this occassionally happens when one of the doors is not properly closed the central locking pops up again, my advice would be to check that all the doors are flush within the frames before locking. If you do take it to a garage do not be pressured, a good garage will pinpoint the problem and give you a free estimate

if it locks and bounce back with the key FOB but locks when manually operate using the key means a fault in the BS l unit related to central locking for me.

hey there l have had this problems more times than other have had hot dinners, it is one of your actuators are not working due to dampness getting in.
My opinion is to replace the 2 actuators (front if its 5 door)
the new units will come with different wires and pluge.if u need the pin numbers and the wire numbers just ask l have them ready in my toolbox.(9 hours difference from the U K to O Z )
you will have to buy the 2 brown plugs and 2 green pins to go with them.
